Volunteering

So, I was home for an entire day, when it was time to pack up and leave again. This time it was up to Camp Roberts in Paso Robles to do some volunteering for high school kids for a moot court program - a program I have participated in for about 5 years now. I was a bit unhappy that I had to leave home again, since I had only been home for about 36 hours, but I had agreed to do this program so had no choice. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy volunteering and believe everyone should spend some time volunteering and helping others. It was more about having to leave home again.

So drove up Saturday late morning for the Saturday evening program. Sunday I got up early to do some organizational things early and then had thee 3 hour session with the kids, trying to teach them the basics about courts and then deal with our particular moot court problem. Turns out there were over 100 kids - each year the program seems to grow larger and larger. The kids did a good job, even though it is a lot to digest in a short time period.

Once that was finished, it was time to pack up and drive all the way home. I got back home around 9:30 Sunday night, where I was exhausted - but again happy to be home. Funny how the simple things in life (just being home) can make me happy.

Well Carol, perhaps, and maybe its a stretch, but staying still for more than a few hours or a day would do some good:)
