I can happily say that for the first time in about four months, I do not have any airline reservations. That is not to say that I won't be traveling in the next few months, but I do not have to travel next week. As for after that - well I board that plane when it gets here.
Although I have traveled tens of thousands of miles in the past few months, not enough of them have been on foot. So tonight I jogged down to the Rose Bowl to get back at it. While my legs felt fine for the most part, I mainly struggled cardiovascularly on the uphills. So, for those sections, I ran for 4 minutes and walked for 1. I was not thrilled with my performance, but I am not sure I was expecting more due to my trading of traveling for training for the past 3 or so months.
As it turned out:
- Lack of proper nutrition / no Zone = Check
- Not enough water = Check
- Bad running form / not enough Pose = Check
- Lack of sleep = Check
- Overall struggle with my run = Check
Surprise over my performance? = NONE
Excuses? = NONE
Although not the best night, it was at least another night training. I am looking forward to getting to train more regularly and building back up my overall stamina and fitness to what it was before. One day at time!
