Catching up . . .

The last few months have been a bit crazy with travel, so I have been neglecting to post things to my blog. I actually wrote up a bunch of entries and somehow did not get them posted. I am not sure if it has just been all of the traveling, business at work, business at play, or just laziness. I suspect it is some combination of the three. So for anyone actually interested here is what I have been up to although a bunch of it is a bit dated by this point in time (I figured if I wrote it, I might as well post it):

Super Bowl Sunday (2/1): I decided to have a Super Bowl party. I had a fun group come over on an absolutely gorgeous day, and I think everyone had a lot of fun (at least I hope they did). We were all disappointed the Steelers won. And I think Dave and Joanne made out the best in our little pool.
The first week of February started off slow and then involved a busy work week. Monday I made it to boot camp (although feel very out of shape and sluggish AGAIN.) Tuesday I took my road bike out for about a 10 mile ride. Then fell into an old (but bad) pattern of working until 8 / 9 p.m. Makes it hard to get anything for me done.

Friday brought the rain and the duck races. (See separate entry for Duck Races).

Saturday (2/7) Jane and I did our first brick for our triathlon training. We took the mountain bikes out for about a 7 mile ride and then swam about 1000 yards. I felt like a brick, but was glad to be out there doing something.

Sunday (2/8) we were supposed to go hiking - but due to the rain ended up have a fun day inside instead (See separate entry for Sunday Funday)

Then it was back to work . . . Monday and Tuesday I worked late, Wednesday I was out at a client, and Thursday I was off to Sacramento to volunteer for the Moot Court program I work with. I was up there through Saturday (2/14). The program went well. The kids did great, and I think they learned a lot in the short amount of time we have with them. We had one advisor who apparently disagreed with something in the mock problem and was rude. Sometimes I think advisors forget we are volunteers with full time jobs. I was not around for this little episode, but my attitude is always if people do not appreciate our efforts and he thinks he can do it better than more power too him. Enjoy.

Saturday evening (Valentines Day) I came back - and Kary, Dave O., Joanne, Jane, Dave B. and I met up for some beer and pizza. We played some dominoes (Dave B. won), and had some good laughs, which led to certain people crying they were laughing so hard. Apparently this is a mid-western or western thing, and also very entertaining to those of us who do not cry while we laugh.

Sunday Jane and I met up again for another brick. We did the same 7 mile ride and then 1500 yards in the pool. I still suck at riding up hills - but felt better this week and a little stronger in the pool. Slowly but surely I will get there. I just need to start running more regularly. I was optimistic - until . . .

Then I started my cross country traveling - four cross-country trips in four weeks. So tired . . .
