Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving was a busy weekend for me. I was very thankful for the opportunities and friends I had that weekend.
Wednesday
So I decided to start Thanksgiving weekend on Wednesday. I actually worked from home because I had a number of errands I had to run. So after about 3 p.m., I headed out for pies, toys, and food. I then met Elva for a beer. I had planned to stop by the Academy to pick up a shirt for the 5k the next morning and head home. But Eric and Q guilted me into going to boot camp.
So, I changed my clothes and headed down to the park. As it turned out there were only four of us, it was dark (the lights were not on), and everything was wet from the rain. While we were waiting we saw some people on the tennis courts, which were lit, so Eric agreed that we would play tennis.
It was not much of a work out, but it was definitely worth a few laughs! (Can you see the ball???)
The night ended with the Cops showing up as a group of people were arguing over tennis courts. I kid you not!
Thursday - Turkey Day
Thursday morning started early. We went up to La Canada to run a 5k - The Run for the Hungry. It was a fun morning to be out with friends. Here is Kari and I after the run:
After our run, Elva and I drove around in search of huevos rancheros. Turns out most people had the day off, as if.
After that, it was off to my little brothers house to watch my Cowboys beat the Seahawks. By 5 p.m., I was full and exhausted. So I headed home and took a little quiet time to read a book. (Finally finished reading all of the Harry Potter books!)
Friday
Friday started out with some work I had to do. After that it was off to Newport Beach for drinks with Jen, who was just in from Iraq.
It was a fun night. It was good see everybody and hear Jen's crazy stories from Iraq.
Saturday
Saturday was another early morning - errands and then off to the USC game. YEAH!!! We piled in the limo - somehow and off we went.
It was a great and beautiful day, a good game, and just a lot of fun.
I ended up getting back home at 1:00 a.m. and crawled back into bed.
Sunday
Sunday I dragged myself out of bed early to go to church. Then Kari and I met up to go shopping for couches and play some tennis. Somehow we made a pit stop for Margaritas and a later pit stop for beer (see a trend here?), but no tennis. But she did find a couch. Me, on the other hand, I came home empty handed and sad that the holiday weekend was over!
