2011

I've decided 2011 is going to be a great year.  Maybe because 11 is my favorite number or maybe because I see big changes on the horizon.  But whatever it is time to set some goals and to do's.

1.  Travel - I want to continue on my 2 trips a year quota and would love to get another back packing trip in there as well.  There is some talk of maybe tackling the Tahoe Rim Trail during summer, which would be awesome.

2.  Events - last year I only did a handful of events.  Work and other things got in the way.  This year I plan to do many more. Already on the calendar are Conquer the Bear (4 events over the year), Ragnar Relay, and a few triathlons.

3.  Training - I was fairly inconsistent all year, until the end of the year when I consistently did not train all that much at all, which is not good being I was feeling pretty good in August and September.  So starting from scratch.  Specifically, I want to hit a 30 minute 5k, a pull up this year, and aiming for April to make the 31 minute cut-off for Eaton Canyon.

4.  Weight - Despite my various inconsistencies, I have worked hard in the last 20 months to loose weight - and have lost about 20 pounds during that time, slowly and gradually and am happy that I have not gained them back.  I try to avoid yo yo dieting and make permanent changes and choices I can live with.  I have about 10 more pounds to lose and would like to get at least 5 of them off this year.

5.  Photography - I have 8 photography projects in the works.  I need to buy a new computer and get them done, so I can do more.  I also want to print some additional pictures for decorating.

6.  Service - I do some community service and volunteer doing various moot court programs with kids.  But want to do more this year.  I have no idea what, but need to better serve others and not just myself.

7.  People - There are various people I need to spend more time with this year.  You know who you are and I am going to make a concerted effort to do so.

I think that is more than enough for one year. So here's to a great 2011 - may it be filled with lots of hope, happiness and blessings.
