Road Trip: Day 7

Starting Location: Boston, Massachusetts

Number of States: 3

Number of Stops: 3

Ending Location: Milford Connecticut

We left Boston on our way to Plymouth to see where the Pilgrims landed. Looks like Plymouth must thrive on tourism. Turns out, there is a monument there and a rock.

But we were discussing whether that was really "the rock." I mean how do they know? They did not say at that moment - here is the rock, let's mark it. It was not until later did they really care. So is "Plymouth Rock" just a hoax? Is it just a way to get people to buy trinkets in the myriad of gift shops? Our second thought was - o.k. they land at Plymouth in December. Now what? Was there snow on the ground, anything to eat? Did they think they ended up in the wrong place. None of these questions were answered for us.

But we came, we saw, and we were off again.

This time we were headed to Cape Code. We had no particular destination in mind - just the bay and some seafood. We ended up in Sandwich, where Jen's Aunt used to live and then was on the hunt for lunch. Nope - no sandwiches, rather we had more - you guessed it - Lobster at Seafood Sam's.

While the lobster was good - it made us appreciate Barnacle Billy's all the more. Must go back!. But once we were stuffed on more lobster, we were off to Rhode Island to another state capital.
Then back to Carol's favorite east coast location - Hartford!!!! Another state capital. Only this time it was much warmer. The first two are the capitol building and me from January. The last one is from this trip. Looks just a skosh different:
From there we went down to Milford, Connecticut, which was a quaint seaside neighborhood for some food, some sleep, and a pretty sunset.
TOMORROW: New York City - get the rope.
