While it has been hectic getting here (which at the time I am writing this is an airplane sitting on the runway at LAX), I am sure once we are all in Virginia and ready to go my frenetic energy will turn to enthusiasm. As an aside, my last road trip was in 2003 (which by the way was my last real vacation before 2009). We went drove up to Denver and back. It was a blast, so I am expecting great things for this trip as well.
The trip (ignoring the fact that I will also have to work along the way), is 10 days, approximately 1,500 miles and covers more than 10 states: Virginia, Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, Vermont, Maine, Massachusetts, Connecticut, Rhode Island and Delaware. The crew is Jen, John, me, and whatever trouble we can find.
My current goal (other than having a great time and getting some exercise in) is to try to update this blog each morning with the highlights of our journey from the day before.
If you have any suggestions of places to go or eat anywhere along our journey, just let me know, as we are totally up for suggestions.
Tomorrow: Starting in Alexandria, Va. Heading to Philadelphia, Scranton, and then ending up at the Finger Lakes of New York.
Wish me luck!
